A Carpe Diem Snapshot:
Yesterday's April Fool's Day steady and gloomy rain (which ruined everyone's Pasquetta picnic plans) brought us this morning's radiant dawn, with wisteria vines rapidly wrapping their tentacles around host trees above the gazebo. This is perhaps the most magical and fleeting time of day, and we are fortunate if we manage to capture it. The air is clean and rich with oxygen, released from the growing vegetation recently nourished by the long drink poured out from the skies.
Liturgical: Tuesday within the Octave of Easter Mary went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord,” and then reported what he had told her.
"The Resurrection of Jesus from the dead shows as definitively as possible that God is up to something greater than we had imagined or thought possible.
And therefore we don’t have to live as though death were our master. In light of the Resurrection, we can begin to see this world as a place of gestation, a place of growth and maturation toward something higher, more permanent, and more splendid.' -Bishop Barron, from his Gospel Reflection of April 2, 2024
