Today's Carpe Diem Snapshot: The artist-in-residence turned 11 today. She not only baked her own birthday pie (marshmallow mixed berry, compliments of Little Bear), but she also made the clubhouse (with a little help from her friends!) in which we held her birthday party. Brava, Valentina!

Gifts, wreaths, flowers, food, and wine were placed on the graves of the ancestors, which were inside mini courtyards where families could gather for picnics, just as is still practiced in Mexico today
