Calendar Class of March 9, 2024

A Carpe Diem Snapshot:

The little body of Santa Francesca Romana, laid to rest in 1440, has been venerated by citizens of Rome, and those who have adopted the city of Rome as their home, in this basilica in the Roman Forum for centuries. She is the patron saint of our Rome program, so at least once a semester we pay her a visit and pray for her intercession, for both students and professors alike.

Liturgical: Saturday of the Third Week of Lent "Come, let us return to the LORD,

it is he who has rent, but he will heal us; he has struck us, but he will bind our wounds."

Sanctoral: St. Frances of Rome (1384-1440) Patron of Motorists, Benedictine oblates, homemakers, city of Rome. The convent she founded near the Teatro Marcello, muraled by Antoniazzo Romano, is open to the public on her feast day only.

Human: Tour of Rome with a Santa Francesca Romana theme- her house and hospital in Trastevere, her convent at via Teatro Marcello, and her basilica in the Roman Forum.

Natural: Recipes from Kendra Tierney for the feast of St. Frances of Rome, patron saint of homemakers

Quote: "The angel has finished his task -- he beckons me to follow him." -St. Frances of Rome
