Calendar Class of May 11, 2024

A Carpe Diem Snapshot:

May is the month of Mary, and today is also her feast under the title of "Queen of the Apostles," during this liturgical time when she prayed with them in the upper room, waiting for the descent of the Holy Spirit. This morning, I joined a special Marian pilgrimage with the Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, Michigan, in thanksgiving for 50 years of graces received from their Patroness Mary, Mother of Mercy, since their refounding. The sisters selected each church according to its dedication to Mary, and some miracles that occurred in them that were connected with her. The pilgrimage church pictured above is perhaps one of the most historically fascinating palimpests in the city, the Basilica of Santa Maria in Aracoeli.
