A Carpe Diem Snapshot:

We'd been out of Rome for just a day and in Michigan for less than 12 hours when we were surprised to witness a very Roman tradition at the Basilica of St. Adalbert. Red, orange, and yellow rose petals descended from the interior of the coffered dome at the conclusion of Mass, in imitation of the Mass of Pentecost in Rome, scattered down through the famous oculus of the Pantheon. Funnily enough, I've never actually made it to that hugely attended event and was regretting it yet again this very morning, so it was a real Carpe Diem treat to see this beloved Roman tradition being carried on in the New World, so close to home. All roads lead to Rome, and also out from Rome-- urbi et orbi!

Bishop Barron's homily

Fr. Plant's homily

"And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim."
