Tonight the Villa Magnolia hosted the Acton Institute's "Campus Martius" dinner lecture, featuring the famous Lebanese cuisine of Tony Assaf! The topic was "Fruits from a Church Rich and Poor," with Dr. Philip Chavez.

Sanctoral: Our Lady of Pompeii (the shrine is just next to the famous ancient city, which we visited on this feast day many years ago); Feast of the apparition of St. Michael-- The feast commemorates an apparition of St. Michael on the summit of Monte Gargano in Italy on the Adriatic coast in 590 A.D., and the dedication of the sanctuary built on the site of the apparition. (Wonderful pilgrimage site! We visited in 2019)
