A Carpe Diem Snapshot:

"Good Children and Bad Children" by Robert Louis Stevenson

Children, you are very little,

And your bones are very brittle;

If you would grow great and stately,

You must try to walk sedately.

You must still be bright and quiet,

And content with simple diet;

And remain, through all bewild'ring,

Innocent and honest children.

Happy hearts and happy faces,

Happy play in grassy places—

That was how in ancient ages,

Children grew to kings and sages.

But the unkind and the unruly,

And the sort who eat unduly,

They must never hope for glory—

Theirs is quite a different story!

Cruel children, crying babies,

All grow up as geese and gabies,

Hated, as their age increases,

By their nephews and their nieces.

Rather, living the truth in love,

we should grow in every way into him who is the head, Christ,

from whom the whole Body,

joined and held together by every supporting ligament,

with the proper functioning of each part,

brings about the Body’s growth and builds itself up in love.

Bishop Barron's Gospel reflections today.

Sanctoral: Saint Peter of Alcantara, Spain +1562

Peter was a contemporary of well-known 16th-century Spanish saints, including Ignatius of Loyola and John of the Cross. He served as confessor to Saint Teresa of Avila. Church reform was a major issue in Peter’s day, and he directed most of his energies toward that end. His death came one year before the Council of Trent ended.

The Writer's Almanac today.

Natural: Have you heard about Human Growth Hormone? Apparently, there are plenty of ways it can be boosted naturally to optimize longevity. With the passing of my birthday yesterday, I've decided to adopt these three simple practices over the next twelve months (at least most days!)- early morning exercise, keto OMAD, and quality sleep. Wish me luck!

Italian: Forse vs Magari vs Può darsi – What’s the difference?

Quote: i thank You God for most this amazing

i thank You God for most this amazing

day: for the leaping greenly spirits of trees

and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything

which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(i who have died am alive again today,

and this is the sun's birthday; this is the birthday of life and of love and wings: and of the gay great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing

breathing any—lifted from the noof all nothing—human merely being

doubt unimaginable You?

(now the ears of my ears awake and

now the eyes of my eyes are opened)
