A Carpe Diem Snapshot:
By happy coincidence, we got a three-in-one holiday today-- it's Sunday, it's the Nativity of Mary, and it's Grandparents Day. So, we celebrated all of it together with Grandma Kirk with pumpkin spice cake (what else at this time of year?). The book about Mary featured here is by Tomie de Paola, and the candle is a creation of Lee's Bees Candle Co. in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is a specially designed candle mold of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. She also designs the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Chaste Heart of Joseph candles, as well as a new item, a Memento Mori skull-- perfect for October, or for stoics at any time of year.
